Evening Schedule

6:00 Cash Bar 7:00 Dinner (Reservations Required), Quail Creek Country Club The very informal opening session will include a discussion by Helen Howe (moderator), Tinks Howe, and Don Sackrider, friends of Jones; and Richard King, the James Jones Literary Society home page editor. The friends will relate remembrances of the Jones they knew. The moderator, Helen Howe, will go into the audience and encourage individuals to also share their remembrances of Jones. Richard King will present information and comments he has received via readers of the society home page. Ray Elliott was invited to travel to the location of the filming of The Thin Red Line in Australia and was given permission by Terrence Malick to interview the actors and to write a story for the Jones Society newsletter. During the second session of the symposium, Ray will review these days spent on location and discuss the enthusiasm and the attitude of those involved in this project.
