The story of the Hazelton Bridge!   My name is Stacy (Enlow) Ramsey, and I was raised in Decker, Indiana,  from 10/28/69 (b-date) up to the age 19.

I never heard of the train  wreck, there are no train tracks at all by the old Hazelton Bridge. The closest  one is up the White River and it goes through Decker across the White River in  to Hazelton.

The episode of the boy getting killed is true!   I remember him, we attended the same high school, South Knox High.  He worked for a farmer in the melons  at Decker.   From what I recall the bridge was getting very old, so  to keep heavy vehicles off of it they put a big, thick i-beam across the bridge just  up high enough for a regular size truck to go under. Well, the boy was in  the back with some other hired hands, and stood up to look over the cab  of the truck just as it went under the beam; it was supposed to have hit him in  the forehead.

I have been around Hazelton and Decker for a long time.  I've never heard such bull about the old Hazelton Bridge.  Friends and I have camped there and all along the White River. Sorry - but no ghost!!!
