Subject: St. John's Church Hi Richard.
I was reading thru your email messages and got interested in Rena
Westbrook's query about St. John's Church and other buildings of the era. I
assume you (or someone...Richard Day?) has provided some reference to her,
but I wanted to point out one which may have been overlooked. In Vincennes
Historical & Antiquarian Society Publication #20 (Windmills, Gimbels, Early
Banking and Old Vincennes) the article: "Old Vincennes Bits Of History" by
Edgar Julian contains a 1880 map of Main Street Vincennes identifying all
the businesses. Since the buildings are often named after the businesses
which occupy them this info might help Rena.
I also attach a scan of a pin and ribbon I have in my collection. It was
issued in 1902 on the Golden Anniversary of St. John's Church. It is about
4 1/2" long. Thought you might find it interesting.
P. S. Tell dick Day I enjoyed his postcard book.
