Les Habitants du Poste Vincennes

1732 - 1778

News: January 14, 2002

Bonjour Mes Amis!

I hope you have all had a good holiday season and are starting out on a great New Year. It's exciting to think about what may happen with Les Habitants in 2002!

The second Les Habitants meeting took place on November 27 at the Bloebaum-Fuller Annex in Vincennes. We talked about our goals and objectives, about the kinds of personas we are thinking about and lots of good ideas. Some of these ideas were: field trips, "open house" at the Old French House, and the Spirit-of-Vincennes Rendezvous in May. Getting ready for Rendezvous is a major first goal for us, so we need to figure out what we are going to do there.

The next Les Habitants meeting will be very helpful and important to the objective of accumulating knowledge and information. We will meet on Thursday, January 24, 7:00 p.m. EST, in the Byron R. Lewis Historical Library on the Vincennes University campus. Lewis shares the same building as the Shake Learning Resources Center, on N. 2nd St. Richard Day will be helping us with finding resources and learning how to use them. This will be a great jump-start for our learning process and will get us going on thinking about and developing personas. I think you will enjoy what you will find there! There will be a short "business" meeting first. What I hope to accomplish is:

1.) Talk about how Les Habitants should be organized (memberships? Dues? Those kinds of questions).
2.) Talk about any ideas we have for Rendezvous (I'll be presenting one on behalf of Marilyn McCormick, who is out of town.)
3.) Any other ideas or items you would like to discuss.

Give me a call or e-mail with any questions. I hope to see you on January 24!
