Meteorite in Wabash River in the 1930s?

NOTE: Has anyone ever heard anything about meteors in Vincennes?

Richard,

I looked at your new www page. It is very good. I have only browsed thru the links so far, but you have covered a lot of interesting material. I'll try to research a couple items for possible inclusion on your page.

By the way, I did not see the story of VU's haunted Sigma Pi Fraternity House in your pages. Is it there and I missed it? Or did you not mention it? If you need a reference the story was written up in THE GHOSTLY REGISTER by Arthur Myers (Contemporary Books, 1986, p. 126-129).

I also remember hearing stories when I lived in Vincennes (1945-1963) about a meteorite which crashed into the Wabash River between the auto bridge and the train bridge sometine in the 30's...have you ever heard that mentioned by anyone else? I have no references to it, I just remember stories about it. It may have been an urban legend.
