Haunted House Near Oaktown, Indiana?

Subject: Haunted story


I had an encounter in a house my boyfriend (husband now) lived in near
Oaktown, IN about 8 years ago. The house we were renting was just off of
old US 41. It was a three bedroom fairly old home. We didn't really notice
anything strange when we first moved in, but one night we were lying in
bed when we heard what sounded like a child run up the hallway. The dog
we had at the time heard it to for he growled and the hair stood up on
his back. For about a second I thought it was my 3 year old daughter.
Then I remembered she was visiting relatives. I looked down the hall and
saw nothing. That wasn't the only time that strange things happend. My
friend was staying the night and she asked me the next morning if I open
the door to the guest room and looked in. I said no I had slept like a
log all night. That morning her mascara was missing so we deduced that it
must have been a little girl ghost. The house next door to us was empty
but we thought someone lived there because the lights would come on and
you could hear children playing and what sounded like furniture being
moved and a hammer banging. There was a woman that had moved in for about
a month she asked me if I had heard anything strange. I told her I had.
She moved out that same week.We moved out a few months later because my
husband and I bought a house in Bicknell. But we still tell people about
our ghost. I love reading the ghostly stories of Knox County. Thank you
