The 1999 James Jones Literary Society Symposium will feature an extraordinary roster of literary stars--Jones' friends and peers who will discuss his New York years and his war fiction and non-fiction.

The growing list of outstanding writers scheduled to apear at Long Island University-Southampton Campus on June 26 to speak about Jones and his work includes William Styron, Norman Mailer, Budd Schulberg, Joseph Heller, and Betty Comden.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear these distinguished writers tell of their experiences with Jones, in the place where it happened--The Hamptons.

The program will be free and open to the public. But hotel and motel rooms in the Hamptons will be booked early for the summer season. So we urge you to make your reservations NOW.

A limited number of LIU-Southampton dormitory rooms will be made available to JJLS members for the symposium weekend. Both single and double rooms are available, with dormitory-style shared bathrooms. Included in the price of each room is a meal ticket which will cover three meals per day in the college cafeteria.

Cost per night for a dormitory room is $80 for a double room (two beds), $50 for a single room.

Reservations for dormitory rooms must be made by March 10 by sending a check for the full amount to JJLS Membership Chairman Kathy Stillwell at P.O. Box 304, Gatlinburg, TN 37738.
