We're very informal and our goal is to have fun and share the music. To find music or sound for the tunes below (and thousands of others), check out Chris Walshaw's great abc musical notation collections at http://www.gre.ac.uk/~c.walshaw/abc/#collections -- this United Kingdom web collection is a very useful source of tune information. Otherwise, the abc section of the CEOLAS archive has everything anyone could want to know about abcs, including lots of tune and software sites. Our group plays most of the tunes found in the John Walsh Tune Book (PDF format) at http://www.ceolas.org/tunes/ , so this would be as good a starting point as any for a person who wants to learn a few traditional Irish tunes. For specific tunes, try J.C.'s Tune Finder first. It is amazing! |
